okay so im driving on freeway and doing about 70mph early morning my car has been sitting all night , its cold out all of a sudden my 1997 3.8L automatic camaro WITH A @!#$ LOAD OF MILES (200k+) turns off the check gauges light goes on,my oil pressure drops and im coasting with no power i pull over immediately to the shoulder and turn the key to the off position.then i wait about 30 seconds and turn my car on and its like nothing ever happened. WHAT THE @#!$ JUST HAPPENED?!?!? these simptoms have been getting worse first it stutters it started with small stutters then it wouldnt start after small distance travel (15 minutes) and now im looseing power on freeway!!! I need more info im takeing it to get the service ebgine soon light checked in 2 days. iwould like to show up to the mechanic with some suggestions or ideas.

Replace the oil pressure sending unit. Some cars have an ignition cut out if the pressure drops below a certain level.(Not sure if this is true on our cars, never had the problem) The sensor could have been damaged by having the wrong amount of oil in the engine. Best bet is to start there, it's a cheap thing to try, and you can do it yourself.
Also, I believe shaking at idle with an oil pressure problem is normal.
