Resetting Lap Records
Hi all,
Haven't formally introduced myself yet, but i'm here to share that just recently back from an SCCA double national at MSR outside of Houston, the SSB lap record has been reset by me and my 2001 V6 Camaro.
My name is Travis, and i've had the car for a couple months to campaign in the Rocky Mountain division SCCA national club racing events. so far so good with two wins in the back by way of texas. here's the car.

SSB mandates that most of it stays stock. for this year we're allowed higher spring rates and a 32mm front bar. the spring rates escape me currently because it's late. but other than that, and race pads, it's all standard kit.
long time no post. college does that. next race is less than a month away, and i've run into a problem. hopefully someone with some chassis knowledge can help me out.
we put stiffer springs (again my brain is broken lately, so let's just say the front are much stiffer now) and a thicker front sway bar, 32mm. this has made the car slower.
car feels better, i.e. doesn't roll and dive as much, but for some reason the springs are much taller, and we've lost the negative camber. the drop in lap times MIGHT be from the tires being a little more worn, but i'm skeptical. the Kumhos plateau nicely in performance.
what i can tell you is the car pushes a bit more, as if the tires aren't loading as well from the loss of camber, and the car is lifting an inside front wheel BMW style, and being a live axle, this also seems to be affecting the car's ability to put down power effectively in tight corners.
the dilemma is this: do i remove the springs only, sway bar only, or everything.
since we can still gain some roll stiffness from the bar, i thought it would be best to put the normal springs back on to regain the camber and drop the front suspension.
anyone with experience in this, track time in a camaro, or some geometry knowledge to determine which way to go: anything helps.
Thanks in advance. if i test on friday, i will update how the car feels.
