I did my 97 LT1 in about 2-3 hours. I had to remove the fans, radiator, and it is pretty simple from there. Remember there are 6 bolts not 4 like later GM water pumps.

so you have to remove that. and also be verrrrrry careful when actually taking the water pump off cause there are some o rings and a bearing on the camshaft, that if you damage will leak oil

Psst...guys, LT1 advice for an LS1 car isn't going to go very far[8D]

Most of the advice will probalby still stand, but you may be looking at different times. I've never done a water pump on an LSX...

Again, an LT1 comment...
It took me about 3 hours to do, with a couple short breaks to clean up, and a break to eat pizza.
What's with you guys and your crazy fans/radiator removal? I didn't take any of that stuff out.....
The only things I removed besides the water pump itself were the air pump/bracket and the air intake...
But this doesn't help with your LS1. Sorry.

Ya, not sure about the LS1, but it took me about 4 hours on the LT1.
