Default removing stock plastic grille

i just my billet grille and i can't figure out how to remove the original plastic grille, the instructions say you bend it up from the bottom and cut the plastic studs, but i can't for the life of me bend it upwards even an inch. and i dont want to pry it up with something in fear of scratching the paint. anyone have any suggestions?

With the aftermarket grilles, I was under the impression that they screw directly into the stock one. Are you sure you are supposed to remove it? Sorry for not being much help, that's just what I thought.

it depends on the grille, some of them do screw in and others replace the stock grille.
and im pretty sure you just pry it out.

the instructions for my billet grille tell me i have to remove the stock plastic one. the billet grille i have is pretty thick, I'd say a good 2" thick, so i cant put it ontop or it will stick way out and look retarted. i guess ill just pry that ***** out. hah ill get pic up of it when i get thenew grille in.
