Remove the lines from the antilock brake unit. and I removed the trans X-member from the car and let the trans hang with no ill effects. Just be careful lowering the engine it is heavy and will want to fall kinda fast.

Remove it from the computer and all other connections outside the engine and lay it over the top of the engine.

At this point I am just bout ready to lower the engine, all connections are disconnected all I have left is to remove the hard points and lower the engine.

ok i believe my problem was the intake manifold gasket however i figure i change the head gaskets while the motor is out. on the tip of the block where the piston reaches its peak it looks like there is minor chipping (around the tip of the circle where it looks like theres another circle in the block). is that natural? and is there anything else i should change while i got this far

TO me it sounds like he is talking about the little ridge that the piston rings leave at the top of the bores. If so that is normal. It is left there because the rings dont reach up that far to scrape the residue from the fuel burning off.

yeah i figured that i tried to upload photos but my phone wont send them for some reason. the push rods have no order when i put them back in because when i took the heads off they fell everywhere. also how would you clean the top of the pistons because they are dirty

I would not clean anything other then to vacuum it out. You do not want to lodge any carbon off the top of the pistons down in the rings. Always remove the rockers and push rods before removing your heads. It is very easy to bend a push rod. You should also keep track and put them back where they came from. in your case all you can do is check to see if they are bent by rolling them on a flat surface.

I dont use sand paper on my engine... that stuff will kill the engine really fast.
