Default Remote starter rookie

Going to buy and install a remote starter for my girl's 2000 3.8. Have one lined up, but instructions are more than a little vague for the level of difficulty involved. Interfaces with the alarm, tach, power windows, rear windowmain defogger, trunk, door locks etc. Assume that I will have to get a separate bypass module for the security system. Anyone had experience with aftermarket remotes? Where is my biggest chance of screwing up? And where is a good source of detailed schematics?
Thanks for your time!

First, get an alarm with credibility. Viper is a great candidate, and parts for them are everywhere. I have and just installed the 5901 in my 2004 silverado. It really makes you feel more connected to your vehicle.

Nowadays they have data to data modules that do just about anything, cost extra, yes, but it's better than traditional wire to wire. Go to a BBY or another place that installs alarms and see if they have one that will work for your vehicle. Will make the install nearly painless.

One place to go is 12volt.com, never went there for the camaro, but I imagine they have some info for you.

And the biggest chance of screwing up? Just blueprint where your wires are gonna go, and and make sure to conceal them. The alarm is only as good as the installer.
