A few months ago, I purchased a Factory Five GTM and have finished it out. The other day, the rear hatch latch stopped working. The solenoid is making a whirl noise, but it won't release - I've pulled/pushed/everything during the release button push, but nothing.


The latch is the same as used on a 93-02 Camaro/Trans Am. My problem is that I have very limited access to the latch. I can reach some small rod through the diffuser in the hatch, but other than that, my options are limited unless I break something to get to it.


My question is whether there is a way to manually release the latch. I
m assuming or hoping that I can wedge a wire into the latch and force it open, but I'm not familiar enough with the assembly to know this 100%.


Any help/thoughts is greatly appreciated.
