Rear gears?

If you are really looking for low ETs you need to go lower than 3.73, more like 4.11 or 4.56. You want the engine to hit the red line as you cross the finish line. However, this will make driving at highway speed a buzzing experience, but it will be a hoot around town. Wheel spin off the line could be a problem, but a set of drag radials and stiff rear shocks will help a lot.
The 3.73 make a good all around compromise, but not the best for drag racing.

3.73 for auto is pretty good. Soft rear shocks will allow weight transfer to the rear nicer to help prevent wheel spin. I have 4.10s on my 3.8 with the 5 speed and you sure notice the difference. Haven't hit the 1/4 mile yet tho.

I agree. If you're looking for low ETs, go with 4.11 or 4.56. If you want to keep it reasonable on the street though, go with 3.73. I had a 97' TA that I had 3.23's in, and I swapped them out with 3.73's, and it was a very noticeable difference, yet still decent for the street with normal highway driving.
