Default rear end swap thread????

I know this has been asked, however I cant find the answer I'm looking for. I just put new wheels on my 94 -3.4 stock .The problem is all cosmetic. The car is a daily driver. Id like to put a rear end with disc brakes on the car. I want to get something that i can bolt right in, will any 4 gen with disc work? camaro or firebird ? Do I need to grab the master cylinder ? Will the drive line work as well?...Rear drum to disc brake conversion = $700-$1000.Rear end at pick and pull. $200 .

Definitely not worth the time and expense since "looks" are all you're after.
Being "cosmetic" is the motive, get these and put your money into something else: Garage Pro POLISHED STAINLESS STEEL BRAKE ROTOR SIMULATORS - JCWhitney

Just do a drum to disc brake swap, Jeff at TRANS AM CREATIONS - HOME PAGE sells used ones for a lot less than your $700 quote! I did the job, with a little help -- not too terrible... No need for a whole new rear-end!

Also, AFAIK, there is no such thing as a GU80.

Grab a rear end that has gu6 and g80 and swap away. Make sure it's not a traction control car unless you have traction control. I did my swap in a day doing everything myself but bleeding brakes. I still have my drum brake master cylinder and find it works fine.

Default Rear End Swap..

Many options you have in front of you:

1. Go to a recycle center, locate a 4th gen with disk brakes and pull the brakes and should be all you need.
Lots of work but if that's what you want then you will do it. I would just take the entire rear end including the emergency brake (word to the wise, don't cut the brake line, just disconnect where everything connects underneath).
2. Follow the thread from the firebird/trans-am swap.
3. Aftermarket set ups, but be prepared to shell out some money.
4. Live with what you have and be happy. If you paint the drum with black paint it will clean things up and nobody will notice the drum, they will see your rims.

Trust me I swapped out the rear end and in the end it was more trouble than it was worth, sure it looked good, but like I said way more trouble then it was worth.
