Default Rear caliper seized

So last night I was replacing the brake pads and rotors on my 97 z28. Got to the driver side rear and realized the bottom slider is seized.
Any recommendations besides brute force and wd40

It would probably be less of a hassle to get a new bracket. They can be had for next to nothing. Otherwise soak it in wd40 and use heat.

Heat and whack with a hammer. Then use a pair of vice grips to work it back and forth while still using heat. PB Blaster or CRC Freeze off works much better than WD40.

Thanks guys. So torched the crap out of it banged on it as hard as possible all with wifey asking every question under the sun as to why it was stuck. While trying to break it free I did not notice the piston had come out. Tried to push the piston back in place and ruined the seals. Just my luck. Brought the caliper to the local garage where the mechanic got it apart(not easy) then learned they no longer sell seal replacement kits. So with all that I finally paid $140 for a new caliper.

$140 for a new caliper? Is it solid gold? Or did you get both? Btw, they still make the rebuild kits for calipers. Just easier to sell you the whole caliper.

Haha I wish it was gold. Just one caliper the rear driver side. It is Canadian prices so about 112US. There are no rebuilt kits here in Canada anymore.
