Default Random question

Anyone know what the idea was behind leaning the radiators back in these camaro's? I searched around trying to find the reasoning, but nothing. Anyhow just a random thing i just wondered about.

so they allow clearance under the car and fit under the hood. im sure the availability and usability of radiators in a certain size may have had something to do with it.

Two reasons I can think of...

1) To keep the body line low in the nose area

2) Additional cooling capacity of the radiator as you can put a 20" tall radiator in a spot that would otherwise only hold a 15" tall radiator... just by leaning it back.

2.5) You can run larger diameter cooling fans then by doing #2 above.

As suggested, lower hood line, lower air resistance, lower center of gravity.
