thank you. I'm just a guy that has always loved cars but put it on hold during the diaper years of the kids. I've been looking for a project car for several months and came upon a 95 z28 that the interior is in great shape, the exterior as well as the paint is only a couple years old and the engine was rebuilt.

In a short time, I've bought Z06 rims (you folks helped me determine that the rears need to be bored out a little to fit which is absolutely correct) a CAI, magnaflow catback, Optispark, new wires, new water pump and I've replaced all the rotors and pads and painted the calipers.

This weekend, all the stuff gets put on. I want to start with a fresh water pump/thermostat and optispark/cables because those weren't replaced during the rebuild. Also, do you promise to keep a secret................when I'm done with it, including the appearance mods under the hood, I'm giving it to my son.

When I'm done, I will post pictures because all of you have helped answer my questions and the finished product will be the result of your help just as much as my bloody knuckles (and wallet). I never owned a Chevy. I was always a MOpar guy when I was younger and now my daily driver is ........(yeh it's a mustang) but this Z28 so far seems like it will be a good car. The LT1 is more than enough engine for me and especially for junior.

Oh, I have no tolerance for street racing. I lost a good friend when i was younger because of it. I would only race on the unused airstrip in our town (until the grass grew too high through the cracks) and we would also make the 1 hour convoy to the drag strip for wednesday night grudge runs. We never raced for titles, we generally raced fior McDonalds food.

 

Thats when you and some buddies buy the land. cut the grass, repave and turn it into a drag strip. If you build it they will come. Im sure if you all pitch in and ask a fair rate for people to race you would make back what you spent pretty quick.

 

Its not that easy. Local laws will not allow you to just set up and let people come to race.

 

just need to be somewhere with no noise ordiancance.... and find a half mile long strip of unused land [&:]

 

well the way i see it is
1. you lose your parents get pissed
2. you lose you get arrested then your parents get pissed
3.you win BUT he dousent give you the keys
and 4. you win he tells his parents what happend the his parents they get pissed the theytell your parents they get pissed then you all have one BAD day

Unincorporated county land that you buy is up for grabs. We shoot at my buddies house into a triple thick 5 ft tall brick wall and he lives in unincorporated county land with neighbors directly to his right.
