Default Question on removing the lt1 engine from the top

Hey guys i have a happy hooker that I got and Im wondering if it would be best to remove the transmission still attached to the engine or if I should unbolt it first. If I was to leave it on shouldnt the transmission just slide off of the drive shaft? Im pretty sure the drive shaft just sits inside of the tranny, thanks.

Thanks on the confirmation, that is what I figured. My dad did a clutch replacement on the car about 10 years ago when he owned it and was convinced in removing the tranny first but its a big pain in the ***.
