Default car died. ignition problem?

driving along and car just cuts out and dies as if someone flicked a kill switch. still has power, but wont prime or try to start.

kid I bought the car from says its a loose wire on the ignition switch (and says its common with these). theres a yellow plug under the dash just to the right of the steeing column, he says if you wiggle it it will work again. and after some wiggling it works again, but dies 4 more times before we get the car home. anyone ever hear of anything like this?

my guess, or easy fix, is just get some electrical tape and secure the wires, or take apart look at it and/or take it to a mechanic. what make/model?

yea, try to stay away from buying cars from kids, especially sports, because almost every time they were run hard...
and what is probably the problem(not sure) but take the under-dash off, and examine wires...since all you have to do is wiggle it. im guessing its a loose connection, or ground wire. so electrical tape should do it, or if its not find and surface to tape it to that it works, and secure it to the surface...other than that i dont know what to tell you.
