Default question about the hose from the throttle body to the mass air flow !!!

Ok guys the big hose on my 95 camaro (lt1) is cracked, u know the big one that goes from the throttle body to the mass air flow, ( i took it out to clean the throttle body and instanl an air foil), but i found out that is was cracked and ripped, so i called the dealer and they have no idea what its called or anything ( also this hose has a long tube going down and not sure whats the purpose of it) , so i was wondering is it ok if i just go buy one of those blue hoses (after market) and install it or whats the easiest and most cost effective way to solve this problem ??? thanks guys.

The big hose is the intake elbow. The long tube hanging on the bottom is a resonator to reduce intake noise, also called a donkey dong, and is not necessary. You can find the elbows on E-bay, the dealership, or from Jegs and Summit. The important thing is that the lebow be big enough and air tight, otherwise the engine will prform poorly. After market elbows are available in neoprene, aluminum, and plastic.
