I say if you want to fix up the V6 car then put minimal money into and preferrably stuff you can take with you, like the wheels.
If you are going to put a 383 stroker into it then start out with a Z28 or at least something with a V8.
While you can put the 383 into your chicks car, I mean the V6 camaro, you are going to have to upgrade the radiator, suspension, transmission etc etc. And in the end it IS STILL GOING TO BE a V6 Camaro car....... resale will be crap.

EIther find a nice clean Z28 and do the various Wheels/Body/Chassis stuff you want to do while enjoying a good running car. I'm lookng at putting a 383 in mine and in addition to the motor that is going to run from $2500-6000 it will take another $1250-2500 for the extras if you do it right and THESE figures are IF YOU ARE STARTING FROM a LT1 engined car.
Or go finda Z28that is high mileage needs work and go through the entire thing.

DO THE MATH, it is going to take a lot more money to stick a 383 into a V6 body AND a lot more time....... then it is still going to have the resale of the V6. In fact I wouldn't be interested in buying it period.

Not here to burst your bubble but your going down the wrong path IMO

I thought he said he already bought that LT1 car, and was wondering about first mods to it. If that is the case do a search, as this topic is probably the most posted\covered topic on the forum. You will find many threads on the topic of 1st mods to LT1 cars....

while most of what u said is technically correct, dont dis on the v6's and i think most chicks on this site would know that there is no such thing as a chevy 383 v6

the body is identical, the only real things u will need to swap is the engine, tranny, kmember, and some attaching front suspension parts.

Not to mention that we've already covered most of that earlier on in the thread...

If you purchased the LT1 go for a true Cold Air Intake, a cat-back exhaust and headers to get yourself started. After that it depends on how much money you want to put into the car and how much HP you want out of it.

a good 383 will get you atleast 400-460hp on the engine.(or atleast thats what i see em rated at..) However i know a kid who thinks he can get 600 out of a 355 on the engine alone..

u probably can, but not just out of a stroker. it will take alot of work, extensive porting, and a well balanced build to do it. and u better have deep pockets
