It was originally sticking down where the stock filter box was, but it wasn't secured so it was loose. I took it off the hose and moved it up to where it is now for a more sturdy location. Guess I wasn't thinking about it sucking the heat from the top. Duh!

I'll move it back down where it was originally.

If that's what you're meaning.

And they must not make many CAI for the 3.8 '97 model. Only one I came across is the K&N that's over $200. All the other ones are for the 5.7.

So, I went the cheap route. I can't see myself paying over $200 for the K&N one unless it was worth it and really showed a big improvement.

You could have always got to Advance auto and just built yourself a custom intake using Spectre that would be shiny too. Probably would have spent less than $150 doing that.

Or gone to Home Depot and bought some PVC or ABS pipe, and put a plenum setup together on the way cheap.

Ive had that shiny stuff before :/ It heats up too fast ( then its the same way, by the time it reaches your engine from the bottom through HOT shiny pipes, its no use, I guess at least your not spending over $200 hehe

Personally not a fan of the ws6 hood on a camaro. Or body kits. Each to his own tho'.
