Default possible front main leak?

After running her hard after getting the intake back together, there is a large amount of oil coming down around the p/s pump. pump is new and no drop in fluid level. there is oil behind the balancer but only on the driver's side, and the air is pushing it down the side of the block. the crank sensor is soaked in oil, and the balancer has the slightest wobble to it. valve cover is drive, intake is sealed, oil pan is seeping a bit all around, but is dripping from driver's side front. ideas? and doing the front seal isn't all that hard is it?

Doesn't sound too bad, but the Balancer might take a bit...

Notice

Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Install the crankshaft balancer bolt (1).
Tighten
Tighten the balancer bolt (1) to 150 N·m (111 lb ft). Use the J 36660-A to torque the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 114 degrees.

pulling the balancer was not too hard, but since you have done that once you already know. THe seal on the other hand was a PITA to get in right. IF you can get that seal installer tool it will make life much easier but if not then use a soft face hammer and go slow and try not to deform the seal as you install it. I had a hard time finding a seal that was not part of the timing cover gasket kit and not only that the new seal was not much cheaper than the whole timing cover kit. You may have a leak in the timing cover as well which takes a little more work to get to, including some oil pan removal.

thanks massey. i remember they called for a special tool to do the rear main. i trimmed down a 305 piston and it worked well. i used a socket to do the front. might need to get a seal driver. i know pulling the front cover means draining coolant again.
