paint color and code needed

Default paint color and code needed

i am getting ready to re paint my 93 and was wondering if anybody knew the color name and code for the black that is used on the haedlight buckets

There is no paint code for that. It was simply a satin black Dispersion Laquer that GM sprayed on after the bumpers were painted. When I was painting cars we would just shoot some black base in that area and call it good. It turned out pretty good.

was the main body color a laquer or urathane
want to make sure i get ther correct type of base / clear

GM went to Base Coat / Clear coat on all upper scale vehicles in the late 80's. This ment Corvette, Camaro, Cadillac, upper level Buick, Olds, and Pontiac cars got the BC/CC. The entire GM line was converted by the early 90's. Your car will be BC/CC and it should be an enamel base with a catalysed clear (either expoxy or Urathane will work just fine)

p.s. the headlight buckets were painted with Dispursion laquer like what GM used to paint their entire line with. THis was applied after the color and clear but before it set fully to prevent them from having to scuff the areas where the black was applied.
