Anyone know what a a pop or thump noise could be, when you accelerate hard from a stop? Seems to be coming from around where the transmission is. Maybe a mount of some sort? I don't think it does it as much if I power brake.

But it sounds/feels slip something is slamming into something almost.

If your trans mount is torn, the lifting force that the rearend puts on the torque arm will make the tail of the trans jump up and bang the tunnel.

I recommend a poly mount if you like to drive your Camaro like it's a Camaro. The stock mounts don't hold up for crap. Believe me, I have a v6 and I went through 3 mounts within 2 months. That's when I bought a poly mount. I've had it for 3 months or so now and it's still like new. Good luck.

Based on the price of the mount, I might rig up a hockey puck type deal, if that is the problem...

And yeah Chaotic, you just need to be easier on that car, lol
