Default v6 or v8??

hey guys and girls, i was just having a little trouble on deciding on what i want to do with my Camaro. I own an 02 Camaro 3.8L v6 5sp. I want to get some performance out of this car but i don't know whether or not it is worth sinking the money into, or to just use that money and buy a v8.

Any advice would help!

Thank you.

do like massey and get both, you can get a few extra hp out of the 3.8 for the short term. if you want more power go with a v8.

Yeah, i would really like to get a 98-02 Ls1 but those are kind of hard to find out here for a decent price. I wouldnt mind getting a Lt1 though.

V8 for power v6 for ride and comfort. Unless you have turbo stuck in your mind like me. The ls1 has more power potential but the lt1 isn't to far behind. Both good strong platforms. 93-95 are harder to tune because of the obd 1.5 systems. 97+ have the nicer interior console.

when you say "some performance", what are you looking for? If you want maybe 250hp at the crank, that's doable and relatively cheap for the 3.8; plus insurance is less with the v6 and gas is cheaper (87 octane vs 93). I'd say save up for a LS1. The LT1 is nice and all, but I think the few extra bucks is worth it for the ls1 and newer body style.
