plastice connectors in cowl
So im attempting to remove my cowl to get to my windsheild wipers but im not sure how the cowl comes out i see these little black plastice pop rivets that seem to be what holds it on. I dont wanna break these is there a tool i need to get to remove these? or do u have to break em to get em out?
Are you changing the wiper blades or doing something more serious? If you changing the blades, can you turn the wipers on and stop the when they are up on the windshield by turning the ignition key off?
are they the lil 1/4" round black plastic with a lil larger 1" black plastic outer circle?if so use a plier or screwdriver to raise the center rivet up about 1/2"-3/4".then the whole outer ring and rivet will pull out
ya thats how i got them out i kinda messed em up though a little taking em out so i think im just gonna replace them they cant be that expensive. I was checking the wiper motor and the board to see what my issue is and why my wipers wont work on Low - High speeds and will work when i put fluid on the windsheild. Snow has been keeping me from getting all this done.
they do make a tool that works good for removing the plastic fasteners. looks like a bent screwdriver with a wide end that has a rectangular opening in the center. i think i got it at sears.
no i havent got a price they shouldent be more than like .50 cents a peice at the dealership. Or at least i hope not for a small peice of plastic lol broke both of the stupid covers that go on the wiper to hide the nut.... kinda mad about that though
