Hey im looking to buy a chip for the ol' camaro. it a 99. ive got about 500 to blow on it. any recommendations as to what chip is best/preferred?

 

Just search it on the forums... youll find some interesting stuff and one of the larger debate threads lol

 

seriously theres like a thread made two days ago asking about 4th gens and chips.. they all come to the same conclusion: you cant chip a 4th gen, and anything less than a dyno tune is a huge waste of money. IF you want a good tune and you want it done right save a couple hundred and have it dyno tuned so you can see the progress as you go.. and it will open alot more doors to alot more power.

 

Forget about doing any research on the subject. just ask another person with the same amount knowlege to share his opinions andthe replies may not be correct.. If you want a chip go for it. Then you will learn do reseach on the subject. There is NO chip to increase HP & TQ on 4th gen car as stated in a previous Post.

 

Get HPTuners.

 

if u have 500 to spend get hptuners, and save up for a wideband LC1. you can do infinitely more with that than you ever could with a handheld tuner.

Waste of your money. As Specter and I said, if you have that much money to spend on a tuner, buy HPTuners. You can control so much more, and tune other cars as well.
