Performance mod's
I havent really posted on this site sence I sold my 3rd gen camaro, but I love the site! Well now Im looking into getting a 98+ z28 so I can run against my buddy in his retro stang. So my my question is, what performance mods would give me the best bang for the buck on the ls1? And also, Ive researched a bit and found 78mm, 80mm, and 90mm throttle bodies, so what would be the best to use on a totally stock ls1, and which would be the best to use if I upgraded the intake manifold? And lastly what is the mm on the stock ls1 throttle body? Thanks, Gary.

RE: Performance mod's
First step is always a better flowing intake, after that for general bolt ons LS1's love almost anything exhaust side. On a mostly sock car you don't need to worry about upgrading the intake manifold or the stock TB, they'll be more than enough until you get into some serious internal work.

Intake, headers, y-pipe, exhaust. The factory intake manifold and TB are well built and you will not see any real gains until you are well bolted and even then its 1000 bucks for only a few ponies.

RE: Performance mod's
Go with the SLP CAI, and it seems the FTP 85mm lid is a little better than SLPs due to the wider opening into the MAF, see:

Kooks headers, a Y-pipe, a afttune and better plugs/wires (maybe MSD & NGK or Denso)...
