PCV Issue
Hey guys I went to check the pcv on 94 lt1 and when I pulled what i thought was the pcv valve on the passenger side valve cover i found a hollow plastic elbow. Is this correct, and if so where is the pcv located.
Thanks
Thanks
Yes it is i found it, but can you tell me what is the hollow elbow on the passenger side valve cover? The hose runs up to the throttle body and hooks to a inlet that has oil cover the inlet port. I cleaned the thottle yesterday and it was just caked with black derbis which i beleive was caused by the oil moving moving through the hollow elbow up to the TB.
pull the hose off the tb and see if theres oil in it. should not be getting oil through there. i think its part of pcv system. its called a crankcase vent valve in the book. i dont think theres a valve in it but thats what its called in the book. could be a one way valve in the tube/hose. i had that stuff in mine to when i cleaned it. i guess it could be caused by to much blowby from the pistions. i know my compression is low so im losing air their somewhere.
There is no smoke visible when i start it up, but when i went to test drive it from the owner he revved it up after he started it and i just cringed and i seen a puff of blue smoke. I hate when people will not let the engine do it's job (let it go through it's paces, especially fuel injection)
mine did that. i had some cracks on the intake so i changed to a edelbrock. when i did that i found that the intake was not torqued down. it was getting oil by the intake gaskets. also leaked bad. new oil pan gasket intake and front timing gear cover gaskets and seal, not a drop of oil on the floor.
