Default Brake ???

Can anyone tell me what happens when a brake master cylinder goes out ?
How do the brakes act , are there any brakes at all.
I have a 94 v6 and the brake light is on now I just put new pads in and the fluid is full but the light is still on.
Any help would be great.

usually thats a indication u r losing fluid on the front or rear brakes. or the e brake is on. theres a sensor that reacts to the fluid going more to the front or back and not evenly. if you bleed one or the other (f or b) too much it will also cause the brake light to come on.

when you press the brake pedal, the master cylinder is what pushes fluid to the wheels. if that is going out, then you might be heading for a brake fail

Your story is a little vague. Were you having this problem before you replaced the pads? Or did it start after the new pads were put on?

Check the car for a brake light out, that will set the light off also. And from what I've always seen, usually these car spit fluid out the master when they are going.
