Default overheating Z28

I have a 95 Z28 with the LT1 i got a new water pump and stuff but now im having a problem with the fans. They come one but wont seed up into there high mood and when they do sometimes my service engine light comes on when its on my car runs at a normal temp when it goes off the the temp goes back upbut it doesnt do it all the time sometimes it works great

In most cases, depending on the code, when the MIL lite is lit the PCM will force the fans on to protect the engine. Being that the fans work it indicates that the fan circuitry and the PCM are good. You need to look at the ECT sensor (not the temp gage sensor) as the PCM looks at the ECT sensor in order todetermine when the fans should be turned on. Also, keep in mind that the fans are not commanded to high speed until the coolant temp reaches around 230 deg.

where do i find the ECT sensor at and yes i know the fanswont come on untill its really hot but the check gauges light will come on cuz the temp get to high sometimes so i think it could be that sensor that you are talkin about

and if you have dual fans you can put them directso both could turn on and it will keep it cooler.

maybe try flushing the radiator and replacing the thermostat dude. most of the time those are the 2 main problems.

what he said if you just replaced the pump I would advise a flush and new fluid put in after running water through it for a while so I guess Im saying flush the old fluid then run water through until it heats up and stays that way for a while then flush the water and put in new antifreeze
