Default Over heated DEAD car

My car 96 Camaro 5.7 Has always had the temperature just above 160 even on long trips. But yesterday i was driving on the freeway for about 15 min and my window was fogging up de-frost wasn't working and on top of that it was raining heavy i wasn't really paying attention to the gauges (for the first time) as i got off the freeway i stoped at a light and my car just turned off. my car had over headed. It had gone all the way passed 260 all the way to the red. I Pushed the car to the gas station i imidiatly started putting more water and it turned out my radiator was leaking. Now i replaced the radiator but the heads and head gaskets are gone i need new ones. I was wondering would it be better to sell the car and just get a new one. Or should i just swap out the motor for an LS1 the one iv'e been wanting.. even tho my car has other technical problems.

How many miles are on the Car?

Why Don't you just swap in a new or rebuilt LT1?

Unless you really want the LS1. Then I would sell a just purchase a 98+ Z28

first get a repair manual. if u can find one on the net get a dealer service/shop manual for your yr and model. if the heads are ok u could have a valve job done and have em shaved straight. if u can afford it get a set of rebuilt or new heads. perferably ported and polished. at the very least have them shaved.
