Default craby and heated O2's

craby,

I read that you are either now running, or will be running heated O2's.

If that is the case, did you by any chance take some before and after data logs? I'm curious if the heated units allowed a more accurate tune of the car and if you saw any noticable improvement

If so, what is involved, where did you get them ?

details my boy, details please

(this will help others and also for my own edification with my 89 RS)

the 02's are not fouling, the car is running better sooner, still rich on first startup. no did not get any data logs. if i could get time to figure the program out i would do it though. i used 3 wire sesors because i already had them you can use 3 or 4 wire sensors to do it. three was easy, two white wires and one black, black is the sensor wire the two white are for ground and power. doesnt matter which wire is hot or ground. i hooked into the igition wiring and put a 10 amp fuse in the line for both heaters.

I understand why you would wire them to the ignition so they are powered when the car is running, but isn't 10amps a bit much? Wouldn't the wires melt before the fuse would blow?

it calls for a 5 amp fuse on each line and all i could find at the time was one single fuse connector so i threw a 10 amper in there and ran both to it. i used some marine wiring i had left over from a boat project, 10 amps will not melt it, the ignition is also fused so i figured i am ok. so now that you have brought it up i think ill change it to a 5 and see if it blows with both hooked to it.

let me correct that, one place calls for a 5 amp fuse for each sensor on the 3 wire and shbox calls for a 10 amp fuse for each 4 wire sensor.

if one of us were decent we could always chase our O2's on the newer LT1s and tell you where they are wired.

I may try heated O2's in the 89 I'm restoring. I'm putting on shorties and need to install bungs onto the y pipe.
