Default AC works on defrost and floor vents

Like the title says only coming from the defrost and floor vents no matter what setting i have it on. Ive heard it might be the heater core, vacuum lines, or clogs. If it helps sometimes i smell coolant but only a lil bit. Any step in the right direction is appreciated.

I would check the vac first since that is what the car uses to move the flaps, or whatever they are called, from one position to another. I have had a couple vehicles in the past that have had issures with this and both of them, it turned out to be the selector switch on the dash that was leaking.

Some vac lines are out under the hood, black plastic lines then some are behind the control ***** in the dash. Listen for leaks around the heater control **** too.
