Default OBX Cat back for Ls1

I need a new exhaust because my muffler rusted out on the inside. It will pass inspection but it has this tinny rattle sound at certain RPMs. I was torn between the OBX Cat back and the SLP Loudmouth Cat back. Today I noticed the Ebay OBX Cat back went on sale and was $285 to my door. I pulled the trigger. It is just to cheap to pass up. I know most people think the OBX stuff is junk but I had good luck with their headers on my 3800. There are always mixed reviews but most of the haters do not own them and assume they are junk because they are not $1000.

OBX Catback Exhaust Fits 98 to 02 Camaro Z28 Firebird TransAm 5 7L LS1 | eBay

I will update the this thread on install and sound.

flowmaster series 10, I think so its to good to beat I meen I had a single chamber start rasping at 1000 miles an I am going to get a return next year for a new set ,its very rare that a spot weld lets go on the single chamber ,but I told him I wanted to change to a full bore ,couse I paid all that money for true duals to have a chamber let go,actually for 900.00 installed I did ok parts labor ,that should help you feel real good about your move ,I hear good things about obx,in my case they have life time warranty,he had said even there cheaper version rarely does not happen flo pro I was going with them an changed my mind actually bought them then sent them back ,i was thinking about my old magna flow tips ,they both have life time warranty or 10 year ,what I want now is the super 10 409s ,an its not recommended for street use ,but either were the others ,the good thing is the car falling excempt 95,? question is I wonder what guys with 97 or newer will due when it comes to exhaust that's are not legel ,as the 96 an older are excempt but 97 an newer will allways need to be hooked up atleast hear in NH ,the state had 130 desable limit ,most Harleys with straight pipes are louder I think,my point is you don't allways get what you pay for ,even with supposed be better stuff

I installed it today. There where some brackets that I am not sure what they are for. It is either so the pipes can be used on other applications or years or it is so you can add more hangers then the factory did? I will get a sound clip at some point. This is not a loud system. A small rumble at idle and it can get loud a WOT but I would guess it is much lower tone then the loud mouth or even the flow masters system I have on my LT1. The exhaust is pretty heavy stainless. The tip are heavy.

Looks like a nice system for the price. Not a fan of the flat tips (more of a staggered fan myself). Post up the sound clip

Would love to hear a sound clip! Can you tell me what size the inlet is on the tips? System looks nice, but I am not a fan of the dual outlet tips on the Camaro. I have a set of Oval tips that are a 2.5" inlet that I would use.

Thanks, Gorn, for the suggestion.
I pulled the trigger also and await its delivery.
Nice thing is the tips match my existing SLP equipped '02 SS.

I have not forgotten, just been working 12 hour days. The passengers side tail pipe worked loose, not harm done it just dropped a little. I am going to add a hanger so the car is sitting until the weekend. I am not enjoying commuting in my SUV.

I figured out the brackets, they are super easy to add and they are needed because of the extra weight. You will need to buy some rubber hangers, I got mine from Autozone "Help" section.
