I am a brand new newbie. I am in the process of buying a 1997 30th anniversary Z-28 convertible with 28K miles. My question is the interior options. What I have read is they came with black/white houndstooth inserts in white seats. I just saw one last week with orange perforated leather inserts. The one I am buying is all white other than the 30th anniversary emblems on the headrests. Mine also does not have the orange decals/stripes. I understand they all came with the decals. My car may have been repainted and the PO was too cheap to replace the decals or maybe the PO took them off or maybe it came from the factory without decals/stripes. BTW it does have the Z4C RPO. Just wondering if anyone knows if they came without stripes and all white seats. I will go pick it up soon. Also what is a car like this worth? Just would like to know real value. thanks in advance, Kim

 

If the car came with the RPO Z4C, it is a 30th Anniversary Model Camaro. If the stripes are off the car, someone has taken them off. These cars were all white with orange stripes from the factory and the interior only came in white leather or Hounds Tooth. The orange insert seat covers are an aftermarket product some people use to replicate the seats of the 1969 Camaro Pace Car.
As for the value of the car, it really going to depend on the shape of the car and how much money the present owner thinks the car is worth and what the buyer is willing to pay. I would suggest surfing sites like Auto Trader or Cars to get an idea of what others are asking for a similar car. In reality, it's really going to boil down to how much you are willing to spend to get what you want.

 

Thanks for the quick reply, I have been researching also all afternoon. And I di find out that yes they all came with orange decals/stripes, so yes either it was repainted and stripes not put back on, or someone took them off. And yes all white leather was a option to the black/white houndstooth std interior on the anniversary edition. I loved the aftermarket perforated leather inserts, so I will be talking to my upholstery shop, as soon as I get the car. I did search autotrader, Ebay, CL and yes prices are all over. I think I did excellent as without the stripes the dealer did not know what he had. I made them take a pic of the door tag to make sure it was/is a real Z4C. It has a clean Carfax, 2 owner 28,000 original miles and in excellent condition. Will post more when I get the car. BTW the car with the orange inserts was for sale for 12K OBO with over 120,000 miles. I paid right at 9,000, so I think I did well, now just to get those stripes back on. Maybe someone can decipher the RPO's. I did most of them but some were a bit confusing. Thanks again, Kim

Here are the RPO's I can't find or understand. IP3, yes its a I and not a 1. PE0, R9Z, WT4, 1AZ, 1SM. I found all the others. Once I get the car home will see why it has no stripes. Probably was repainted, but Carfax shows no accidents. Thanks, Kim

Thanks to all!!!! Much appreciated. I loved the 69 Pace cars when they came out, LOL I was a 16 yo car nut, still remember the first one I saw in the local Chevy dealer's showroom. I could and still will not be able to afford one now or then (btw one was for sale at the Turkey Run here in Daytona last weekend, asking $50,000, 350 engine), however I do have a 1:18 scale model of one. Anyway, can not wait to get this 97, Love the white with orange stripes
