Default New to site NEED ADVISE on LT1

Hi folks, Just got myself a 93 Z28. I decided to change the plugs and wires. I took my time got the first 7 plugs changed. Still ran good at this point. I used autolite platniums. Upon removing the plugs I thought it was odd that there was a splitfire plug in the #1 cylinder different from the rest. Then I decided to get that tricky # 8 plug and the 4 wires on the passenger side. Took some time, but got it done. Upon completion of the #8 plug and wires, now the motor feels like it is missing and running somewhat rough. I checked the wires conctions on both ends and reinstalled the # 8 plug just to be sure. Is it possible I knocked it out of timing when switching the passenger wires? Also, would there be a reason to put a splitfire plug in the #1 cylinder? One more question, the SES light comes on a few minutes after starting and pulls a 26 code or QDM fault? Any help will be appreciated.

TIG- no, but you may have a bad plug, poorly attached wire or wired incorrectly

TIG- maybe the prior owner had one kicking around?????

see above prefaced with TIG

it's quite simple

car was not missing prior to plugs and wires

plugs and wires installed, now car misses

If the car has stock exhaust manifolds I know you don't want to hear the answer but you already know what it is

now go outside, get those knuckles all bloody again trying to verify the plugs and wires

yeah it sounds to me like you probably burned a plug wire...or possibly have them routed incorrectly

OK, I went back in and put some of the old wires back on the passenger side and seems to have cured the problem. Plus I cleaned out the TB and intake. Just took a couple more hours of my life. I must say I am a pro at changing the LT1 plugs and wires now. Maybe was some bad wires. Any who, still have a SES light to figure out. Here's what the auto parts said about code 26.

1. transaxle gear switch circuit
2.Evap purge solenoid circuit
3. TPS circuit shorted
4.idle speed control ISC motor throttle switch circuit shorted
5.quad driver circuit

could be any of these, any advice?

Default Pretty funny actually...

The shroud on my radiator turned out not to be the original and is from a V6. Said sparkplug gap .45. I asked Orieley's what the gap for the LT1 and it is supposed to be .60. Changed the gaps and it runs like a champ. All that worry for nuthin! How embarassing! Still have the check engine light issue though.

curious, I run .050 I figured 1/2 inch would be a huge gap but if Oreilly's says so...............
