02's on new cat need advise!
I just received a new catalytic converter that I ordered on line from Auto Zone it is for my 98 camaro w/3.8 engine and it is supposed to be a direct fit but the upstream 02 don't exactly mach. The catalytic I received has the upstream and the downstream right before and after the converter. On the stock the downstream matches with the cat but the upstream on the new cat doesn't. On the stock the 02 upstream is on the manifold (car is on jack stands and can see there is no upstream next to converter on stock) but on the new cat the upstream is right before the cat and I'm trying not to get the check engine light on.
Can I install it anyway and use with the stock upstream and somehow plug the the upstream on new cat?
Can I take it to a muffler shop and just have both cats swapped (cut & weld)?
Any Ideas on how or what to do with out getting the check engine light on?

I would guess you have the wrong cat. The upstream sensors are supposed to be on the manifolds and there should be 2 of them. One downstream should be right after the cat. I would double check and make sure you have the right part first hand. Also my cat is welded to my Y-pipe and clamped to the rest of the exhaust... How does yours bolt on? That also leads me to believe you have the wrong cat.

Thanks for the info I did some research and found that it is the right one but since it is a after market it comes with with up and downstream encase your car needs it but if not, you need to get a o2 sensor plug for the unnecessary o2 port.
