I can see a berger or LT4 camaro being higher in price. Having a 30th SS and a Berger/LT4 camaro are two different things. For example the California Special Mustangs are only a little more expensive than GTs but arent as sought after or as valuable as Roushes/Shelbys etc. Tell me (other than paint schemes) what makes the 30th anniversary SS anymore special than any other SS?

Also how do you think KBB gets their prices? They dont just pull em out of their *****... they read the market and price them that way... theyconsider what the supply/demand is, what shape the car is in what options it has and then they give it a value. They may not take into consideration if its a 30th but then again only car enthusiasts will. You get joe schmoe who wanted a Camaro back then and bought a 30th and just drove it and didnt kno squat about it then he decides he wants to buy something new and he sells his 30th for 5,000 then some Camaro enthusiast comes up and says damn thats a steal and takes the car puts very few miles on it on top of what the other guy put on it yet he will probably sell it for more because its not just another camaro SS. Not everyone sees a 30th and says "damn i bet thats worth a ton because it was made on a certain date/painted a certain color." Alotof people just say "thatsa camaro.. cool".Now if it werea restored 69 Camaro SSandalmost anyone who is anyone knows its worth a boat load of money then it will probably have a huge price tag on it for awhile and probably just keep increasing. But like i said before4th gens arent appriciating in valuein anyway shape or form. As the yearswear on, as more miles are added to the clock the car wont gain value until its old enough to be considered a "classic" or w/e.

Spartan, there isn't anything different between a 30th SS and a 30th Special Edition SS except for the paint, but that's what makes it a rare car, because it came from the factory with a special edition paint scheme, and thus it will drive a higher price because it was more limited in production.

Yeah but MY point was that right now and until the car is considered a "classic" its not worth any more than its original sticker price in fact im sure its worth alot less.. unlike many early Camaros which are now thousands of dollars more than their sticker price. Right now because it has special paint really means nothing.

on paper prehaps no, however it wont be long before people are in fact paying more for these cars than kbb actually lists them. kbb just recently added an SS option to your search since its not a factory option but an SLP option. the blue book values are great guides but not perfect

specter your right, but until people realize their true value their value will decrease like the rest of the 4th gens. Once people see its not just another camaro it will be worth more. Right now only people who pay attention to production numbers etc. know it has value.. like i said joe somebody who doesnt pay attention to production numbers and just wants a V8 muscle car but cant afford a classic doesnt know that its anything more than another camaro. The price wont truelly rise until everyone is aware of its rarity just like the 69 camaros. You see a 69 camaro done right and everyone recognizes ityou see a 4th gen with orange stripes and 4th gens z28s/v6s are pretty common so nobody other than those few i mentioned before realize its anything more than a car with stripes.

which is exactly why joe somebody will be turned away from such cars. power is in the hands of the seller in this case. someone out there will buy a 35th special edition for what its worth. if joe somebody doesnt want to pay the extra coin he will go find another z28.

The car has been modified already anyways, if the car was completely stock, and all original with low kms. This would be a different story.

Youd be surprised,I talked to one guy who brought his Mustang into the dealership to havesome work done on it. Hejust bought a 2007 Mustang GT that was a Mach 1 clone (louvers, black hood, shaker intake, custom fog lights and badges) and he only bought it because it looked cool he had no idea they dont make Mach 1 S197s and he didnt even kno the history of the Mach 1. Long story short he paidprobably 10-15 grand more just to have a cool looking car.Unfortunatly people pay money for good looking cars not knowing it holds alot of value.
