Need some camaro knowledge here
I have a 94 Zed and i am wondering what to do... and what will be the best way to go for me....
my car has the lt1, and i want to either build that.. i am wondering how much that will cost and how much power i can get for a decent price, or i was think of just strapping a S/c on it..
i hear all the time of people saying how good lt1' scan be but is this acurate, can they be a 4 or 5 hundred horse motor for a reasonable price. i dont just want to get into slowly doing things here and there.. i like the car being all original, so either i s/c it and leave the motor stock.... (what will that do for me?) or i fully build the motor( how much will that cost and what will that do for me?)
If u guys can help me thanks... still new to camaro.. and i want to do it right this time.

LT1s are high compression motor. you will spend alot of money on a supercharger alone, and then another good chunk of money getting the motor ready to handle a respectible amount of boost.
head to the 4th gen section and stickied in there is a thread called "Basic modifications tech". it outlines the how and why of boltons mods. IMO, this is your best bet unless you really do have 7-8k laying around

you COULD sc it with out building the motor but you would still have to keep the psi's low. Regardless injectors, fpr, and fp are a must. And a hell of tune. I am speaking from experience on when I would turbo stock motors. Its fun but no one wants to just keep a turbo at 7 psi because they didnt wait to build the motor, eventually you start turning up the boost. 8psi will be ok then 9psi will be ok then 10psi then bamp curnh ungh. Your picking up a piston out the middle of the street
yeah dont do either of those dude, not yet
start out with basic mods (i.e intake and exhaust)
you need to prepare your car ebfore you do anything drastic like rebuilding it or s/c it
imo, do bolt ons first then id say rebuild it first and then worry about turbo or s/c....
what your doing is like trying to take a person to the moon, you're getting the rocket and everything, but your forgetting the ship and the stuff to let him breathe...
don't do it...

If you fully build the motor, even a mild build, 400-500horses is entirely attainable. I would go that route before the blower IMO. Simpler, more streetable, cheaper, easier, etc. The LT-1 is a good motor to build, not as good as the LSx, but pretty damn good!
get the bolt ons like already mentioned...then i'd look at a head/cam/intake package from lloyd elliot or advanced induction. people are making upwards of 400 ponies with his packages and they haven't even touched the bottom end. it also kind of depends on how many miles are on the car before you start throwing money at stuff like that. if it were me, i'd buy an lt1 block and build that up while still being able to drive the camaro with the stock engine in it. then you can wait for the stock motor to take a dump or just throw in the built one when you get it done
