Need help removing tie rod end
94 z28- Outer passenger tie rod end popped off so I got a new end for it but I cant get the old one off. Sprayed PB blaster on it a bunch heats it with MAPP gas but no luck so far- tried vice grips and box wrench on the rod to hold while I try to turn the end part but its starting to round off from slipping.
Any ideas?

they are reversed thread do you have access to an oxy-acetylene torch, mapp gas usually wont get hot enough. and use a pipe wrench on the tie rod end they grip a lot better than vice grips. did you loosen the lock nut? make sure you count how many revolutions it takes to get the old end off that way you can get the alignment pretty close when you put the new one on, than go get it professionally aligned after your all done
also if i were you id do both sides and the inners since your there, there all probably original

Lock nut is also referred to as a "jam" nut. Not sure if that helps or not. Also my tie rod ends didn't have reversed threads. I replaced both of them this past weekend when I did my upper a-arm bushings and headers.

I've never had a nut I couldn't twist, just gotta heat the pee-pee out of it if you have a stubborn one.
I used to use regular propane, but the hotter MAPP gas works even better.

well ill go with it not being reversed then. Thought that nut was connect to the tie rod end...so if I turn that nut clockwise itll go in towards the middle of the car and removing the rod end will be easier? Ill give it ago...ill try some more pb and mapp gas too
