Default Need help with an electrical mod!!!

Alright guys. A friend of mine told me about this and I really want to try it but in a different way. He did a mod to where his car won't start unless he is holding his driver side window switch in the up position. It's a safety feature so no one can start his car but him. I want to do the same thing but with a momentary switch that will be mounted under my dash. The key will still turn on the accessories and what not but I don't want the starter to be engaged by the key unless the momentary switch is being pushed in. Almost like a combination lock lol. Any idea how to go about this?

Bypass the "start" wire to the starter solenoid and put a switch inline. You need to either use a switch that can take the proper amperage draw (you'll fry a cheapo switch), or wire the start circuit through a relay.

Guess I could tap into the existing relay under the dash that the clutch switch goes to. After all it does the same thing. Just wire another switch in series with the existing clutch switch. Good idea RumbleZ!!! Easier and cheaper than buying a new relay.
