so i have a 2000 z28 automatic and when i had an accident awhile back and they had to put a new rear in my car i was told that the gear ratio was not the stock ratio for an auto but i was never told what ratio the car had in it i recently went to atco to run my car with just slp lid w/ blackwing filter , slp loudmouth catback and whatever gears are in there and my best pass on street tires went as follows r/t...0.74

if anyone has any clue of what gears i have may have i would appriacte the help i just accidently ordered 3.73s from slp and i wanna make sure that i dont allready have them before i go thru with the installation car has no tune and speedo seems acurate from what i see when i cross the line to my slips which is why im thinking i may have 3.23

 

call the place who installed your rear and ask them?

 

yeah i know i was planning on trying that tomorrow this was over a year ago tho i doubt hed remenber was just wondering if there was any way to tell

 

Pull the cover and get the teeth count. Only way to definately know.

 

Lift the rear end up and rotate the rear wheels one time. Count how many times the driveshaft rotates.
