Heres a answer to the whole thing. Spend 5K on mods to your car. With that 5K spent you can just about add enough to smoke alot...Then after you win, you can pocket 5K. Simple as that. Super charger and rearend should do it for 5K. Oh and add juice.

Or you could just go with a head cam package. And 100 shot and a good set of gears and slicks.And kill it but thats besides the point.
