msd ignition

will a msd ignition help with anything, and if so what model number do i need?

Depends on what you have doen to the engine. On a stock engine it is a waste of money, but on a highly modified engine it will definetely help.

what should i do first to my car, this is my first z28, i've always had gt's in the past, i want to do a couple things to it but clueless on what to do, it's already got magnaflow exhaust, and k & n air filter, what next?

The z 28 is going to respond to the same mods that most other cars do. Is the K&N filter part of a cold air intake? Is the Magnaflow just a muffler or a cat back system?

Iwould stay away from the msd Optispark if i were you. It will fail as easy as any other distributor and they cost over $500. Stay with the AC Delco and get a good set of plugs and wires.
