People that used to frequent here have done it, that said it's a pretty involved project and it isn't a good economic decision. I like the 93-97 body style more than the 98-02. That said, the LS1 is a great motor out of the box and it has a plethora of mods for it. It's probably similar cost to mod as the LT1, but you can get more HP out of it overall (we're talking ridiculous numbers here though). All in all I would say the LT1 is a better buy.

I like the 97 over the 98...unless the 98 is an SS. Those things are awesome.

98 for sure, with a few swaps like a nicer hood and headlights, the 98 has much better potential for looks. I like the engine too, more raw power stock, and more power potential stock

^^^ For sure! I still wanna do a ls1 m6 swap on a bagged and body dropped 2nd gen s-10. I know that it would be way too much hp, but it just sounds way too fun! Looks like the polls are staying too close to call.

hahaha well don't hate me cause it is a ford swap, but im doing something similar with a 82 courier. It has a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder. I have been slowly building up a 289 for it. I have the engine ready to drop in, but I have had a hard time getting the clearances right so I can have a radiator in the engine bay, because the plan is to keep it looking 100 percent stock

lol! I don't hate ya. The courier is a rare find (around here anyways) even if it is a ford it's still gonna be a unique ride. I used to have a 96 s-dime that was bagged and shaved but a expedition pulled out in front of me and I t-boned him runnin 60. That put an end to that. But good luck with the wrenchin

yeah there are fun little cars. My dad found a pic of a courier and a 1st gen camaro sitting side by side then he took a pic of my 1st gen and our courier and all he told me was. a good future in the making haha. I have put it on hold though because of school and wanting to get my 68 street legal, but i hope to have it going by mid summer
