I had a 2800 stall on my last camaro and it slipped alot.....I didn't like it......think maybe a 2500 would work?

Just spinning the cam doesn't show your clearance. You need to turn your entire rotating assembly to make sure the rods clear the cam as they come around. I know you don't have a stroker motor. But a stroker uses a 400 crank just like you have in your 400, which is why you want to double check clearances.

I'm not Racing it Pete.....I just want it to sound racey.....A high stall is a good suggestion though. Lower diff gears too.
