LT1 Headers And Y-Pipe

When I was doing some work on my wife's car I unplugged the AIR pump and forgot to plug it back in and it popped a code. The computer does keep track of it.

well, there you have it

an OBD2 on Massey's car didn't like the AIR being unplugged. The OBD1 on my 95 LT1 could care less. It did throw a code when EGR was disconnected

I got the pacesetter headers for my gf's LT1 and there the black set with a y-pipe. they look great lol I havent had time to put them on yet.


I did a little research and was told these are a good set to buy.

Um.... Forgot that we were talking about a 95... Yea OBDI could care less about the AIR system.

Nice looking headers... You killing the cat on the car or putting one after the Y?

I'm gonna kill them. first I'm gonna get a cam put in then put the headers and y_pipe on then take to a friends shop and get it dyno tuned

i have jet hot coating on my kooks and a while back i did talk to one guy that was going to order the headers from them but i think he ended up going with kooks.

I went back and looked and the OP lists a 97 so he's OBD2

the second poster, JohnLT bought the painted pacestters vs the armor coated and it apepars he's deleting AIR, EGR and cats. But, his painted headers he bought have the EGR and AIR fitting. The EGR fitting makes them harder to install so if you can swap them for the race version, do it.

OK you are confusing me here now!! Yes OBDII cares and could throw a code OBDI does not care. I think I got it... Not sure I need to get some sleep
