Default LT1 front end clip (lights) on LS1 Body

How difficult is it? I have my 3.4L now and I am thinking of saving it so I can swap out the front clips. Has anyone done this? I have gathered that the LS1 is a superior motor to the LT1 (NOT STARTING A FLAME WAR!!!!! It's newer technology and more responsive to mods on a budget. We're done with that.) But I think that the LS1 front is fugly (personal opinion). So. Has anyone done this? What will I need? I found the article that explains the LT1 to LS1 front swap. So is it the same the other way around? Thanks.

And I am still preparing to be flamed...

So you want to take the 93-97 front clip on put it on a 98-02 LS1 car? To be truthfull its somthing that has crossed my mind for the TA a few times. And yes it can be done but it comes down to what you like. When i looked into it there was a good bit of stuff (hood, nose, etc) that needed to be changed out. But for me i would have had to buy every thing but since you have a donor car right there i dont think it would be all that hard.

And i dont think there is any need for a flaming here. Every one has there own idea of what looks good and doesnt and hey its your car so if you like the older body go for it.

I can't quite wrap my mind around the fact that you think the LS1 has an 'ugly' front clip...haha but anyways, I've seen an LT1 with an LS1 front clip...so I would assume the other way around is possible. I would have no idea how difficult it would be though.

The reason some of the bird guys do swap the LS1 front for the LT1 is for some of the aftermarket hoods out there. There are a few for the 98-02 front (raptor, superhawk,VFN,etc) but some guys like the cow set ups like most of the camaro guys run. So to make it look some what not out of place they use the longer front nose.

I think the LT1 front looks better (surprise, look at my car...). You can do the swap, you'll need the bumper cover, support, fenders, radiator and radiator support and the hood. You will also probably have to pick up an LT1 style intake for it since the LS1 short ram style intake does not fit under the LT1 style hood.

I wouldn't say "fugly," but the 98-02 don't look nearly as good. They look too much like a Dodge Concord for me to take them very seriously.
