Chevy's performance parts catalog has an LS3 engine with cams swapped -- puts out 480hp/475tq. This could be what is in the new Camaro SSX. There's also another LS3 with cams, oil pan and carb bringing it up to 515hp/469tq.

 

I would do it, if I had the money. LS1 Tech has multiple threads on LS1 to LS3 swaps. Its not too much trouble either, according to them.
