The security light reads "SECURITY" and it's located between and above the voltmeter and oil pressure gauges.

Is the car stick or automatic?

If you sit there and keep turning the key does it start?

I'd definitely clean all your battery connections with a wire brush to make sure they are spotless clean and tightened properly if you haven't yet.

When I start my car and turn on the ignition my security light on the dash blinks once and then goes away - if that light keeps coming on at you or stays on it might be the key chip.

test the small wire on the starter when the key is turned to the start position. if no power you have a bad wire from the switch or a bad swich.

I would take a voltmeter and test the connection on the starter to see if it's getting power when you turn the key.
