Default LS1 Automatic trans.

Transmission shifted funny yesterday. I have not had a chance to look at it but I was looking around the net just in case. I found the below at Jegs. Anyone know of a better deal? $1719.00 to my door.

JEGS 603020: 4L60E Performance Transmission, LS-Series Engines | JEGS

Summit? RockAuto?
Seems like a good deal. I would exchange the chrome pan.
Wonder what vendor rebuilt it?

I did not see one at Rock.

Summits cheapest unit is $2050 plus $300 core plus shipping.

I have a friend that may rebuild it on the side but the last time I talked to him he was saying they can spend 1200-1500 in parts on the older 4l60e's cause there are so many updated/weak point.

How did I miss that. Even with the core its still a winning with the torque converter.

$1550 and of that 350 is core charge. Assuming I have to pay shipping on the core its still $1300 out of pocket. That is tuff to beat. Funny I have seen that before with all the trans questions we get.

Honestly tho the Jegs one is still tempting will all the upgrades. I would be in it just over 2k with the converter and its a 450 hp unit with a lot of upgrades.

if you get on it fairly often you will want upgrades.

I am still hoping I don't need one. Could have been the speed sensor acting up. I did not get any slipping codes and I am not 100% sure it slipped or downshifted. I let off before I even looked at the gages. Its not acted up since but I am babying it.

The hope is to baby it until the 93 is done. Then I will beat it and see what happens. If its the speed sensor its going to fail no matter what. Normally they act crazy for a bit before they completely give up. Next time it happens I will look right at the speedometer. If it is showing slower then I am really going, time for a new speed sensor.
