Default Lost keys!

Hey everyone. I just bought a 1994 Camaro from a police drug enforcement auction. The problem is that there are no keys with the car. Oh and there is a bullet hole in the drivers door. Is this car the darn VATS system or a regular key system. I will be picking the car up tomarrow and would like to see if it still runs.
Thanks,
Mike

you might be able to get the key made from teh dealer if you have the papers showing you own the car. My wife lost my key and the spare was with my mom about 1000 miles away. went to the dealer and they made one for me from the VIN #. Worked like a charm.

Hey, The dealer would not make a key without proof of ownership. I had to drive 150 miles away to pay for the car and had to have it out the same day. I had to punch the column to be able to steer it onto the trailer. So now the lock cyliner is out. I got the car home and charged the battery. The engine will turn but will not crank. If I shoot a little starting fluid it will fire up and run for a few seconds.
Any ideas?

Don't the keys cost a bunch of money due to the chip in the key or something?

yes that chip does cost quite a bit if your key contains it which im sure it does because my 91 camaro has one.

When I pulled the lock cylinder there were no vats wires running to the cylindar. Just the two white wires for the key chime. I got my wife to turn the switch to the on position and there is no pump noise comming from the tank. I checked the relay and its got 12 volts so im guessing its the pump.

Im confused! The 2 white wires run up to the very edge of the lock cylinder right where the key starts to go in. Is this where the vats resistor is read from? I thought it would be lower down in the cylinder. I forgot this was a OBD-1 system so I got my Actron scantool and pluged into the port. It shows that the pump is being sent 12 volts when it is cranking but nothing showes up on the pressure gauge. Would the ecm send the pump voltage on vats?
I just want to be sure before I pull the tank and buy a new pump.
Also I found out that the car did not have a gas cap on it so it had been sitting on the police lot for over a year like that.
Thanks,
mike

Yep! Im a dummy! It is the vats wires. I went to radio shack and built the resistor kits and went thru the try and wait for each one and I still get nothing from the pump.
