You can get the stuff off eBay cheap, but you still have to program it for your car. Dealer can do it, or I believe you can do it somehow.

dont pay the dealer to program the fob.
you can do it.
try resetting the computer thing by removing the radio fuse in the upper left corner of the interior fuse box, then turn the key to the on position without turning the car on 3 times, your doors should unlock and your hatch should pop. After that stand by your driver side fender and hold lock and unlock and the horn should sound
(found from camaroz28.com, as i cant find the guy's site where i originally found out how to do it)
if that doesn't work, tell me and i'll keep looking for that site.

Ihave a question related to this forum.
My car only came with one key fob because i bought it used but then my friend threw my keys and it broke.I have a spare key fob from my previous car i traded in. Am I able to reprogram it to work with a different car? I really don't feel like paying ridiculous dealer fees either.
My old car was a '07 pontiac solstice and my new car is an '01 camaro. Both are GM cars and have the same button placement with "unlock, lock, trunk, and alarm".
